George R. Waterman
Drummer/Percussionist/Educator

Born in West Covina, California in September of '72, George has been playing drums/percussion since 1975 and has been involved in the music industry since 1979 and teaching since 1982.

George has played in numerous venues throughout his career with several different bands in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, and many other parts of the US.  George has also performed in Japan, Canada, and Mexico.

Since moving to Asheville, North Carolina in the summer of 2006 George has quickly made himself a fixture in the local music scene, touring nationally, with such bands as Bugs Multiply (Coma Gun Records) and All Good Things as well as landing the house session gig with Echo Mountain Studios.

In February of 2009 George got the call to be the permanent touring/recording drummer for The Poles.  On April 28th of that year The Poles released their debut album, Twelve Winds, with doubleplusgood Records.  Since the release, the album has gotten heavy radio play throughout the US and Canada, thus staking their claim in the top 10 of the CMJ lists.  The Poles set out to conquer the map in May of 2009.

Throughout his career, George has always played with ProLogix pads, Vic Firth sticks, DW hardware, Aquarian drumheads!
